Your first visit..
In our office, the first visit begins by filling out a questionnaire dealing with the current problem and any related past illnesses or trauma. The next step is to meet the doctor and go through a history and exam. At the end of the exam, the doctor will discuss the findings and suggest what treatments would be appropriate for your condition.
In almost all of the cases we see, treatment can begin that day. The typical time to fill out paperwork, undergo a history and exam, review findings and receive an initial treatment is 60 minutes. Follow up visits tend to last for 20 to 30 minutes depending on your complaint.
Dr. Mack Jr and Sr tailor treatment specifically to each patient and their symptoms. Along with traditional Chiropractic adjustments, the office uses multiple therapies to provide maximum relief of symptoms. The Doctors are also trained in low-force alternatives in addition to traditional adjustments so they can provide care for all ages and health backgrounds.
Occasionally, patients present with conditions needing x-rays before we can begin treatment. While we do not take x-rays in our office, several local radiology facilities work closely with us to allow for easy access to the necessary images.
The final stage of an initial visit focuses on education. It is important that you have a good understanding of your problem. It is also important that we review any lifestyle modifications, such as postural and ergonomic changes, that will contribute to improving your health. When you understand why these changes are important and how to implement them, you have the best chance to make a good recovery.
Some conditions that patients present with are not chiropractic problems. If this is the case, we will recommend an appropriate healthcare provider. Please feel free to call our office at 585.671.0882, and we will be happy to answer any additional questions you have.
